The Changing World of Investments
Investing grows more complex each year. In addition to stocks and bonds, there are now inflation-indexed bonds, mortgage-backed bonds, zero coupon bonds, preferred stocks, convertible preferred stocks, international stocks and bonds, annuities, derivatives, private equity funds, hedge funds, index funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs).

Who Looks After Your Interests?
These investment alternatives may reduce risk in a portfolio. Or increase risk. They may be cost-efficient. Or expensive. They may help achieve investment goals. Or place roadblocks on the path to financial security.
How do you know which investments are suitable for you? Is a company recommending a particular security looking after your best interest or its own?   Are their employees experienced investors? Or are they salesmen whose compensation is determined by the products they sell?

What We Do. And Don't Do
Woodmont Investment Counsel, LLC, was established with one purpose in mind: to invest on behalf of our clients, building portfolios based solely on our experience in financial markets and our knowledge of each client's goals and circumstances.

Our only business is offering objective investment management. We are not bankers, brokers or underwriters. We do not sell financial products like mutual funds, insurance and annuities. We do not inventory securities and sell them to our clients for a commission or mark-up.

Our only source of income is a fee based on the value of investments we manage.

This compensation arrangement helps reduce conflicts of interest and distractions inherent when firms offering investment advice engage in other activities.
